TWITTER REBRAND
TWITTER (2021)
I worked as a designer and motion artist on a promotional Twitter rebrand video, aimed at sponsors and executives. The video is part of a bigger rebrand of Twitter’s marketing ethos, and a shorter 30 second video was released to the public as a “last year on twitter” featurette.
We started with the concept of ripping paper and layers of different materials. I created a pool of assets where paper would reveal/tear away, modular, so we could then replace with footage or assets.
I ripped paper for days until I got the “right” tears, scanned with an old Epson printer, and created AE comps frame by frame.
There were lots of big brands that needed to approve content and brand image, so we worked on basic generic transitions and tweets showing up before we knew what elements were cleared.
Styleframes designed + assets and concepts developed.
Twitter wanted some specific tweets and pictures to be featured so I Photoshopped and turned them into assets with more layers for animations.
I made some typography modular comps to present walls of text and for specific moments.
Other assets from brands that didn’t make he final cut.
